Equipment
As well as studio sessions, Gigs can be recorded, with a 'simple' feed to mini-disk, or a full 24 track split feed recording.
The beauty of the 24 track is that everything can be mixed afterwards. I try and place room mics where I can for extra stuff to work with.
I use Neumann mic's in the studio for most things, along with Audio-Technica 4033a's for instruments. There is a huge number of mic's to choose from, depending on the situation.
The studio has a great sounding drum room and a seperate vocal room for greater flexibility, as well as a control room big enough for small rehersal situations.
The Heart of the studio is a stand-alone 24track hard disc recorder. There is a PC with Cubase and various plug-ins for extra flexibility. Along with a Soundcraft desk, Broadhurst Gardens Microphone pre-amps and lots of great microphones - the sound is really quite impressive.
