Equipment
The PA system is based around a HK audio speaker system. The Actor DX system provides 6400 Watts with the double rig. Front of house is mixed using an Allen & Heath GL2400 console. The sound is very detailed and the combination of equipment works well.
One of the regular artists who I work for is Cheryl Lucas who is the voice behind Diva. We have a great working relationship that means from a duo to a 14 piece band, there is no need to soundcheck for them, and a 6 way monitor mix is always used for the big stuff. She is a total professional and a joy to work with - it does the equipment justice!
All gigs can be recorded too, with a 'simple' matrix feed to mini-disk, or a full 24 track split feed recording.
The beauty of the 24 track is that everything can be mixed afterwards. I try and place room mics where I can for extra stuff to work with.
I use Neumann mic's in the studio for most things, along with Audio-Technica 4033a's for instruments. There is a huge number of mic's to choose from, depending on the situation.
The new studio has a drum room and a seperate vocal room for greater flexibility, as well as a control room big enough for small rehersal situations.
